Transponder Keys - Fairfield, CT – Capitol Locksmith Service
The ultimate guard against car theft:
How does it work?
Remote controlled key is extensively used for automatic locking and unlocking and is different from a transponder chip key system which works independently. It carries a microchip embedded inside having a unique serial number. When the key is inserted into the ignition, it transmits a low-level signal that is validated by the car to deactivate the immobilizer. If the signal is unrecognizable, the car will remain stationery. In more advanced systems, rolling codes are encrypted, wherein the validation code changes after every use, making transponder key cloning impossible.
